Having an issue getting monospacing to work perfectly?

Don't worry, we've got you covered with this video which explains the most common issues and how to fix them:

TLDW: 99% of problems can be solved by increasing text tracking

(tracking being the horizontal spacing between each character), adjusting the X&Y thresholds until everything is correct, then removing the extra tracking within the plugin (Digit Fiddler or Monospacer). This makes it much easier to cleanly separate each individual character.

Why is this necessary?

Unfortunately, After Effects doesn't tell plugins which paths belong to which character. Internally, the plugin has to try and decide for itself based on bounding boxes, distances and thresholds.

Still having trouble?

The difficulty of getting a perfect result will vary depending on which font you're using, some are much easier than others. If you followed the above steps and you're still not getting a correct result, please submit a support ticket below and include the following information: which plugin you're using, which version, which AE version, which font, and either screencapture (preferrably video, but screenshots are ok), and if possible include a reduced .aep of the problem as well as the font file. All these details will help us to help you get a correct result as soon as possible.
